Offshore Development

Rigel carries out the entire software development at their own premises in India as per the functional requirements defined by the customer. A detailed project plan comprising milestones, guidelines and schedules is evolved and customer's approval is obtained. The customer retains control over the project through interaction over the Internet and regular conference calls, status reviews, project reports etc. Rigel's institutionalized and proven methodology ensures customer's comfort level and successful delivery. Rigel Networks agrees to provide warranty for the work performed at no charge up to 6 months after the delivery of the work to client.

This model is best suited where the customer has a clear idea, preferably including the specifications, of the development requirements.

Onsite Development

Rigel places the required number of software developers on customer premises, where the entire software development is carried out under customer's supervision and day-to-day interaction. The onsite placement may be a short-term requirement of a few weeks/months, or may extend over a longer duration of a few years.

This model is recommended in cases where the project scope is evolving, the work involved is interactive in nature, or the customer needs to augment its own team.

Dedicated Offshore Development Center (ODC)

For companies who foresee a quantum of work on an on-going basis for a sustained period of time, Rigel offers an exclusive team of the required skill sets for a fixed monthly fee. This team, working practically as an extension of the customer's own workforce, carries out either complete projects or discrete parts thereof, or any ad-hoc software development work assignments to be defined by the customer from time to time. The management of this team, working with the time-tested and proven project management methodology of Rigel, being entirely with Rigel, the customer can avoid the hassles of selection, recruitment, training and day to day management.

This model is very cost-effective for companies who have some development plans in place for the near foreseeable future, and are looking to target more value-added business opportunities.

Hybrid Onsite/Offshore Development

Rigel provides an onsite presence where the nature of the project involves intense collaboration or interaction on a continual basis or there is a customer specific requirement. Its Hybrid delivery model combines onsite and offshore services to deliver results at highly reduced costs. Typically the "System analysis & Design” stage of the project is carried out onsite at client's office. The "Develop' and "Testing“ stages are carried out offshore at our ODC. The onsite manager works from the customer site and coordinates project related aspects with the ODC and the customer. This onsite presence may involve a single resource or an entire project services team, depending on the nature, size, and complexity of the development initiative.

This model is recommended for projects with slightly high complexity where knowledge transfer is more long term or the applications are more complicated and there is a flexible turnaround time.

Build - Operate - Transfer (B-O-T)

We will setup a dedicated Offshore Development Center for you - with our people, and at our cost - for a monthly fee chargeable only for the software development work. When this ODC starts functioning smoothly and begins delivering critical mass of work as per your comfort level, we will hand over the ODC to you at a pre-agreed transfer fee.

Thus, you could start availing the aforementioned cost and other benefits immediately, without having to make any major capital investment. And transition to your own subsidiary - with the required team in place - when you are ready.
